Power cables are used for transmitting and distributing electrical energy. A common medium-voltage power cable consists of a conductor, conductor shield, insulation, insulation shield, metallic shield, separator, armor layer, and outer sheath. Among them, medium-voltage cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulated power cables are the most widely used.

Medium-voltage power cables are applied in scenarios such as urban underground power grids, outgoing lines of power stations, internal power supply of industrial and mining enterprises, and cross-river/underwater power transmission, where the rated voltage is 8.7/10kV, 8.7/15kV, 26/35kV, or lower.
